Craps
Craps has been a popular casino game since the era of the
Roman gladiators. Players bet on whether the shooter will
or will not be able to roll a winning combination with a pair
of six-sided dice. You'll be hard-pressed to find a game with
more excitement and fun than Craps.

Let's
Play!
Once you place your wagers they will appear on the betting
table. Some wagers must be placed before the point is established,
while other wagers can be placed at any time.
- Select a chip value of either $1, $5, $10,
$25, or $100.
- Click specific areas of the betting table
until the number of chips displayed equals the amount you
wish to bet.
- To reduce your bet amount, right-click the
betting circle to remove chips. Your bet will be reduced
by the amount of the currently selected chip.
- Click Roll.
The dice is rolled and the outcome appears in a box at the
top of the screen.
Rules
The player, called the shooter, rolls two dice and the total
of the two dice is added together.
The first roll is called the come-out roll. When rolling
the come-out roll, the shooter is trying to establish a point
by rolling one of the following numbers: 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or
10. If one of those numbers comes up, then that number becomes
the point.
If you wagered on the Pass Line, you are betting that the
shooter will roll the point again before rolling a 7.
- Your Pass Line bet would
win if the shooter rolled the following sequence: 4, 6,
8, 12, 5, 4. You would lose if the shooter rolled this sequence:
4, 6, 8, 12, 5, 7. The round ends when the shooter either
rolls the point (by rolling a 4) or craps out (by rolling
a 7).
If you wagered the Don't Pass Line, you are betting that
the shooter will crap out by rolling a 7 before the point
is rolled again.
- Your Don't Pass Line would
win if the shooter rolled the following sequence: 4, 6,
8, 12, 5, 7. You would lose if the shooter rolled this sequence:
4, 6, 8, 12, 5, 4.
If the shooter rolls a 7 or 11 on the come-out roll, the
Pass Line bet is paid off at even money and the Don't Pass
bet is lost. If the shooter rolls a 2, 3, or 12 then the Pass
Line bet is lost. The Don't Pass bet wins if a 2 or 3 is rolled
and is a push if a 12 is rolled.
If the shooter rolls a point number, then the game progresses
to the next stage where the shooter has to roll the same number
again before rolling a 7.
The Pass and Don't Pass bets are common bets. However, there
are many other bets that can be made.
The following bets can be made in Craps:
| Bet type |
Definition |
| Pass |
This is a bet that the shooter will throw a 7 or 11
on the come-out roll or, alternatively, that the shooter
will roll the point again before rolling a 7. You cannot
remove a Pass bet after the point has been made. |
| Don't Pass |
This is the opposite of the Pass bet. This bet is placed
against the shooter and wins if craps (2 or 3) is thrown
on the come-out roll or if the shooter fails to make the
point. If a 12 is thrown, the bet is a push. You cannot
remove a Don't Pass bet after the point has been made.
|
| Come |
This bet is similar to the Pass bet but need not be
made on the come-out roll. When you place a Come bet,
the next number rolled is treated as if it were your point.
|
| Don't Come |
Again, this bet is similar to the Don't Pass bet, but
can be made after a point has been made. You cannot remove
the Don't Come bet after it has been placed. |
| Odds |
This is an additional bet made on a Pass, Don't Pass,
Come or Don't Come bet that has already been placed. Odds
bets can only be made once the point has been established.
Odds bets are paid out at the true odds: 2:1 on a roll
of 4 or 10, 3:2 on a roll of 5 or 9, and 6:5 on a roll
of 6 or 8. Odds bets can be removed or reduced at any
time. |
| Buy |
This bet can be made on the following numbers: 4,
5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. It is a bet that the relevant number
will be thrown before a 7. Buy bets can only be made
or altered when the point is on, as identified by the
puck. |
| Lay |
This bet can be made on the following numbers: 4, 5,
6, 8, 9, or 10. It is a bet that a 7 will be thrown before
the relevant number. Lay bets can only be made or altered
when the point is on, as identified by the puck. |
| Field |
This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays
even money if a 3,4,9,10 or 11 is thrown and 2:1 if Snake
Eyes or Boxcars are thrown. |
| Hard Way |
This bet can be made on 4, 6, 8 or 10. It is a bet
that the relevant number will be thrown in its double
form (for instance, a hard 8 occurs when two 4s are
thrown) before a 7 and before that number is thrown
in any other combination. |
| Propositions |
A number of wagering options that include any craps,
any 7 and either 2, 12, 3 or 11 being thrown on the next
roll. |
| Big 6 |
A Big 6 bet is an even money bet that 6 will be rolled
before 7. |
| Big 8 |
A Big 8 bet is an even money bet that 8 will be rolled
before 7. |
